Roofing Pellets and Slate - TECHNONICOL

We produce roofing materials of high quality, and for them we use a special granulated material. Modern roofing pellets guarantee tight, without any holes, coating of the material, they keep firmly on bitumen, possess water-repelling qualities and look nice. They should correspond to certain standards of granulometric composition, light stability, chemical and mineral composition and many others. Nowadays pellets production presupposes high-technology equipment, permanent quality control and qualified staff. Great attention is paid to scientific researches.

Materials Granulated material:

Pellets create the upper layer of waterproof materials that are used outside. Pellets are a mixture of mineral elements of different size compounded in a certain proportion. The size of the elements is from 0.25 to 2 mm. The pellets protect material from mechanical effects, moisture, and most of all from ultraviolet radiation, which causes rapid aging of bitumen base.

First waterproof roofing materials with pellets appeared more than one hundred years ago. At that time nobody new anything about negative influence of ultraviolet radiation, and the aim of pellets was only to protect from mechanical damage. As pellets people used sand, mica, pieces of bricks and glass and screenings of different rocks. They weren’t covered with anything and as a consequence they fixed badly to the materials and couldn’t guarantee long protection. After some time there were found the rocks and products generated by technology that prolonged life time of the roof for a long term. People started to cover pellets with special solutions in order to give them necessary properties. Beautiful coloured materials appeared.

Till recently our supplier “StroyMineral” Ltd used screenings from enterprises of mining industry as raw material. But in such situation they had to direct their attention to what was in stock and not to what was better.

Pellets from slate are the most suitable for producing roll roofing materials; besides we can’t use any slate but only roofing one.

Nowadays slate pellets are produced, which are as good as equivalent products of leading European producers. The whole production cycle beginning with development of a mountain group and finishing with packing the pellets into durable and convenient packages takes place at a single enterprise. Its key element is a crushing and screening plant of German ThyssenKrupp Company.

But roofing slate isn’t just pellets! Tiles for covering roofs and facades are also made of it. This king of roofing is one of the most ancient and of the highest quality, it was valuable in Old Europe. In the 1930s roofing slate was mined out in Lysogorsky deposit and tiles were produced. Now façade tiles and roofing slate are produced too.

Excellent materials of “TechnoNIKOL” Corporation were produced using Czech slate. Our aim was to find a suitable deposit of roofing slate in our country. After a spacious geological research we have found out that Lysogorsky deposit of roofing slate corresponds to all requirements. It is located near the village of Slantsy in Beloretsky District, the Republic of Bashkortostan. Nowadays slate pellets are produced, which are as good as equivalent products of leading European producers.
